Yankee Golden Teak Oil

For peak teak protection

Regular maintenance of teak is easier than bringing it back from a stressed condition. Teak is not as receptive to varnish as many other woods, and varnish requires heroic and frequent labor to maintain a protective and attractive appearance. Yankee Golden Teak Oil contains a combination of ingredients (you must shake well before using) that produces a protective finish rather than just an oil slick like some other products.

For best results, clean the teak thoroughly and deeply (Yankee Golden Teak Cleaner works great), and let it dry completely. If the grain has raised, gently sand with, not across, the grain with 220 grit paper. Then apply Yankee Golden Teak Oil evenly with a brush or pad, shaking the can frequently to keep the product well mixed, and wipe off excess. After a week or so, clean the surface with fresh water or a very, very mild solution of dish washing detergent (not our Sea Spray product which will tend to remove the Teak Oil finish) and let dry before applying another coat of Yankee Golden Teak Oil. You will find the finish to be durable for several months, depending on climate, before a new topcoat is necessary. A topcoat before winter layup will make spring commissioning faster and easier.
